We apologize if there has been any confusion regarding our Reading Program. Last week parents received a green letter with Reading Program information. Unfortunately, there was a typo and we want to set the record straight.

The correct reading minute goals are: K-3rd grade 20 min/day, 5 days a week (400 min /month) and  4th-6th grade 30 minutes/day, 5 days a week (600 min/month).  If students meet these goals, they can win a prize.  If they do not meet these goals but have read and turned in their reading minute calendar, they will be eligible for reading parties and drawings.

Megan (our Reading Program Coordinator) is looking for book suggestions for all ages.  She will use these book suggestions as she purchases books for the reading drawings.  Megan is looking for entertaining, clean books for all ages from Kindergarten through 6th grade.  If you have any suggestions, please email her at

Thank you!  Southland PTO
